‘My Washcloth Stinks! was Lonnie Millsap’s first book release of single paneled cartoons. In January 2010 ‘My Washcloth Stinks! was released with little fanfare but was quickly noticed by people in the industry. In mid-2010 Millsap’s book was ordered by Barnes & Noble’s Small Publisher Department and quickly became available to the masses. Artists and curators Gary Panter and cartoonist Matt Groening included cartoons from ‘My Washcloth Stinks!’ in the ‘What Makes Us Smile?’ exhibition at the American Visionary Art Exhibition in Baltimore Maryland. ‘My Washcloth Stinks!’ also opened the door for Millsap to exhibit his books at events like Comic-Con.
